“BLUE DIAMOND.

REDEEMED FROM PAWN. «Y CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT PARIS. June 23. The famous “blue diamond,” once among the Russian Crown jewels, was redeemed on Saturday from the State pawnshop at Nice. The late Czar presented the diamond in 1912 to Mile. Suzanne Thillier, the authoress, who frequented the Russian Court. After the revolution her chateau was confiscated and she came to France. She lost heavily at gambling at Monte Carlo and pawned the diamond, which is of 43 carats, for 200,000 francs. An American millionaire has now offered £200,000, which will enable Mile. Thillier to pay her debts.
