* THE ANNUAL MEETING. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT WELLINGTON, June 20. At the annual meeting of the Bank of New Zealand the report and balancesheet were adopted. Mr Reece, in seconding, said that land values were one of the most important things affecting the country at the present time. He did not see how farmers could be prosperous unil there was some readjustnfont. Surely the real value of land must be its earning power throughot several years. He congratulated the shareholders on being partners in an institution which had practically passed unscathed through the, world war. Mr Gibbs returned thanks for his election as director. Mr Shailer Weston moved a vote of thanks to the directors, the general manager, and staff. Sir James Mills (Dunedin) seconded, and tiro motion was carried by acclamation. Mr Watson responded. Mr Buckleton said bo greatly appreciated the recognition of the staff’s efforts. A resolution of appreciation of the services of Mr Tipton, retiring director, was passed. Mr A. AY. R. P. Green was appointed chief auditor.
