DEATH SENTENCE. Received June 20, 11.10 a.m. LONDON, June 19. Goldenberg was found guilty, and was sentenced to death.—Reuter. KILLED BY CHINAMEN. „ Received June 20, 8.45 a.m. PEKIN, June 18. Advices from Wanhsein state that the American, Mr Hawley, manager of the Arnold Company, of Shanghai, was killed by junkermen who were agitating against the steamers as taking away their living.—Reuter. CANADIAN POSTAL STRIKE. OTTAWA, June 18. Following the action of postal workers in Toronto, Montreal, and several other cities, in striking to-night according to schedule, the postmasters have been notified that the men will be given till ten o’clock on Thursday morning to return to work, otherwise they, will be replaced. Acting-Po st-master-General Stewart said mails must be moved. Postmasters were instructed to take the necessary steps to this end. BRITAIN AND MEXICO. , LONDON, June 19. The Daily Herald says; The Government has decided on a total breach with Mexico. Mr. Cummins will he withdrawn. Sir Thomas Holder’s mission will not proceed. AERIAL TORPEDO BOATS. . LONDON, June 18. The Daily Chronicle says: A War Office secret experiment with aerially launched and wirelessly controlled projectiles is hearing important fruit. An entirely new type of aircraft was tested. It is described :as an air torpoclo boat. It carries aloft torpedoes wings, rudders and elevators like those of an ordinary aeroplane. When fired the torpedoes glide to. the earth, wirelessly steered from an aeroplane towards their objective. The experiments suggest that squadrons of aerial torpedo craft could possibly destroy any objective, regardless of size, from a distance of many miles.
