Ammon (Secretary to the Admiralty) said he was aware that the plant collected for the Singapore base had been offered for sale. The contingency of the srheme having to be proceeded with had not. been overlooked, added Mr. Ammon, and no offers would be accepted which would he likely to involve the State in a loss. He added that nothing which had been done would prejudice future action. The plant offered included everything which would deteriorate by keeping it. It might generally he accepted as right that the other material was not being offered.
