OBITUARY.

■ MR. J. HOBBS. The death occurred early this morning, after a serious illness extending over a period of nearly three months, of Mr J. Hobbs, senior auctioneer for the l'armers’ Co-operative Organisation Society of New Zealand, Ltd. Mr Hobbs, who was born in Hawera 49 years ago, was one of the most popular men amongst the farming community on this coast, he having spent the ivteile of his life in this district. A number of years ago lie was a member of the firm of Hobbs and Young, later joining the firm of Gillies and Nalder, which business w a taken over in 1914 by the Farmers’ Co-op. He had been a stock auctioneer all his life, and. being a man of a. most genial nature, had earned for himself a very wide circle of friends.

To his widow is extended the sincerest sympathy in her bereavement.
