Hedstrom, a member of the Fiji Legislature, lecturing ar, the Colonial Institute on Fiji’s present developments and future possibilities, emphasised that sugar, copra- and bauaiuus were the present productions, while dairying, cotton-growing and pineapples were, future developments. He suited a trial shipment of Fijian creamery butter to Loudon had been favourably reported upon. The lecturer claimed that Fiji always acted upon the principle recently formulated "by the Colonial Office in the Kenya- White Paper that the interests of the an fives was paramount-. Sir C H. Rodwell (Governor of Fiji), who presided, paid a tribute to Mr Hedstirom as a, member of one of the biggest mercantile firms in the Pacific.
