FROZEN MEAT, Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 12th instant: Lamb—New Zealand prime crossbred lamb: Canterbury, heavy 9fd, light lid; North Island, heavy 9|d, light 10|d. Demand for New Zealand lamb.is fair; market is steady. Mutton —New Zealand prime crossbred mutton: Canterbury, heavy 6Jd. light 7d; North Island, heavy 6|d, light 6|d. Poor demand for New Zealand mutton; market very dull. Beef —New Zealand beef is not quoted. Australian frozen meat—Not quoted. The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board advises that the following prices were being offered on June 12, 1924: Poverty Bay: Wethers, 64’s and under, 63; prune woolly lambs, 42’s and under, 9:id. Hawke’s Bay: Withers, 64’s and under, 7d; ewes, 64’s and under, s.}d: prime woolly lambs, 42’s and under, Wellington: Prime woolly lambs, 42’s and under, Canterbury: Wethers, 64’s and under, 7|d; ewes, 64’s and under, s|d; prime woolly lambs, 42’s and under 11 |d, 43 and over 10gd; second quality lambs, lOjd. Southland : Woolly lambs, 10|.
DAIRY PRODUCE. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 12th instant: Butter— Market is firm. We quote: New Zealand, salted 174 s (168 s), exceptional brands 176 s (1725) ; Danish, 183 s (182 s) ; finest Australian, salted 166 s (160 s), unalted 170 s (1665). Cheese—Market is firm. Quotations: New Zealand, white 90s (87s), coloured 89s (86s); Canadian c.i.f. quotation, ' 90s (87s). Last week’s quotations given in parentheses. SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW SALE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Wellington, report the fortnightly sale of hides, skins and tallow was held 011 Friday last. A fairly large catalogue of all classes was submitted. Values for well-grown fine quality parcels of sheepskins .were a shade better than late rates. Snort and shabby lots were about on a par. Salties were easier, with the exception of a few extra special lots, which commanded good prices. The market for ox hides showed weakness, values again sagging id to Id per lb on previously quoted reduced rates. . Short and shabby lots were slight increase. Kip and yearling were about on a par, while calf declined |d on late rates. There was a fair inquiry for tallow, and prices were easier by Is per cwt. The following is the range of prices obtained:

Hides.—Ox, heavy 701 b and over 94d to lOd. 591 b to 691 b 83d to 9|r, medium 531 b to 581 b 6d to 81 d, light, 451 b to 521 b sid to 6d, cut, slippy and inferior 2|d to 73c1; cow, heavy 531 b and Over 6|d to 63d, medium 451 b to o2lb 5d to 53d, light 331 b to 441 b 33d to s|d. cut, slippy and inferior 3d to 4d; bull, s tag Id to 4d; yearlings, 111 b to 161 b oid to 7|d, 171 b to 321 b 4|d to 6d; calf, medim good up to 101 b 83d to 13|d, damaged up to 101 b 2d to lOd 'Tallow.—ln casks, 23s 6cl to 325; in tins, etc., 15s to 21s. Dalgety and Go., Ltd., Wellington, report:—We held ou,r usual fort-nightly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow on Friday, when we submitted a' fairly large catalogue of all classes to the usual attendance of buyers.
