ASSOCIATION GAME. CHINESE TEAM. (by telegraph—press association.) WELLINGTON, June 17. Official, advice of the departure of a team of Chinese University “Soccer” players for New Zealand was received by the secretary of the New Zealand council to-day,- when he received the following cable message from Dr. Gray, physical director for the Y.M.C.A. in China: “A strong team, sailed to-day, composing Mr; Dome (manager), Chen (coach), South Eastern University two players, Soo Chow one, Fuktan five, Nan Yank four, Hongkong one. Canton Christian two. The delay in the selection has made vast publicity impossible.” In answer to a question, Mr. Salmon, said there was no possibility of the team playing in Australia on the way to New Zealand. Regret was expressed that Dr. Gray, who had done so much for “Soccer” in China, was not accompanying the team as manager. The following soccer team will represent Kaponga against Eltham, at Kaponga to-morrow (Thursday): Album, Williams, Wjright, Matthews. Freakley, Pollard (3), Campbell (2),‘ Nicholls, Hislop. Teams will be selected from the fob lowing players in connection with the Auroa soccer fixtures for this week (both on. Saturday): Auroa A v,.Hawera, at Hawera—T. Kilpatrick, W. Brown, F. Butler, W.
