WAVERLEY.

TOWN BOARD At last meeting of the Town Board there were present: Messrs A. J. Adlani (chair), W. Heginbotham, AY. Hicks, G. M. Beer, L. Wales, and J. E., Palmer (clerk). The chairman reported that he had met Air. Gibbs, chairman of the County Council, in connection with, the Highways Board. He advised the board to approach the council, in connection with help as regards plant. Air. Heginbotham moved that the board make an application for £ISOO subsidy, and that the chairman and clerk make the necessary arrangements. —Carried. The Land and Survey Department wrote stating that the Wairoa Redoubt had been transferred from a, Post Office reserve to a site for the war memorial and the land had been vested in the hoard.—Received. I'he surfaceman wrote drawing attention to trees overhanging the road. — It was left to Air \\ ieks to take the necessary action.

Messrs Elmslie Bros, asked for 1 permission to plant tree's on the hoard’s property, adjoining theirs at the dam.— Permission to plant maerocarpa trees was granted. Air. Wicks reported that the grader was working satisfactorily. Accounts totalling £lO2 were passed lor payment. The hoard then sat as the Wairoa Domain Board. It wax resolved that tejulers he called lor the erection of a concrete tank at tire beach, each tender to he accompanied by a deposit of .£135. tenders to close on June 18. It was also resoved to obtain price lists of swing boats. The matter of repairs to the old swing boat was left over until next meeting. The board then sat as the Waverlev Domain Board It was resolved’ that 509 gums he orocured for planting on sections, and that the Domain Committee he empowered to employ the necessary labour for planting. " Mr. Beer suggested that a ticket-box at the domain gate would he a- great convenience to various bodies who use the domain. —It was decided that a box be procured.—Press.
