The Despatch says that Taylor gambled that the recent rains would make the wicket sticky, but the pitch played easily from the start, resulting in the decision becoming a ' tragic blunder. Hobbs was always a complete master. Hendren was over-cautious, and apparently anxious to break the series of failures. —Sydney Sun Cable.
