LARGE QUANTITY DESTROYED. EXPLOSION AT REFINERY. Received June 14, 10.25 a.m. BY GABLE—rkiISS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT MELBOURNE, June 14. Two 17,000 thousand gallon oil tanks at the Commonwealth oil refinery works at Altona were greatly damaged, and the oil contents destroyed by fire. The gas from the burning oil exploded, and blew the roofs off both tanks. The pump houses nearby ignited, and the engines and pumps were destroyed. The damage has not heen estimated.— Aus.-N.Z.
