WELLINGTON, June 12. „ -At a. meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Football Association tonight, the life suspension on R. L. Lithen (Auckland) was removed at the request of the Auckland Association. Permission was granted for the Auckland v. South Auckland Brown Shield match at Auckland on July 12. Guarantees for the Chinese tour were received from Southland (£100), Hawke’s Bay (£45). A .Schools’ Football Association has been established at Huntly to promote Soccer in schools. A silver cup is provided for the competition. Eight entries have been received. The suspension or N. McArthur, Y.M.C.A., Wellington, from taking pairt in the Chatham Cun games was removed from date.

Lord Harris, speaking at a banquet held at Manchester to celebrate the diamond jubilee of the Lancashire County Cricket Club, asked whafc counties were doing to see that the rules regarding qualifications were being observed. “I induced,” he said, “Kent to ask the Marylebone Club to inquire into McDonald’s qualifications. The newspapers state McDonald was in Australia last winter. Under the circumstances I think Lancashire will welcome the opportunity to. satisfy the public on the point.” (McDonald is the well-known Australian fast bowler. June 12, Owing to heavy rain, play in the match South Africa against Oxford was abandoned for the day. GOLF. The winners of last Saturday’s competition (mixed 4-ball bogey handicap) were Mesdames Wade and Beeohey, with thei score of 3 up. To-morrow’s competition will be the first round in the medal handicap for the patron’s trophy, senior and junior players to pair.
