A hold-up, involving tactics almost amounting to military precision, occurred in a busy down-town street at Chicago. Ten robbers swiftly dragged two custodians from a waggon, beat them until they became insensible, and then with 27 packages of diamonds consigned to Tiffany’s. The diamonds are valued at 250,000 dollars. The robbery occurred ninety yards from a policeman. The precious stones were being imported from Europe. When Foy, the driver of the truck, recovered consciousness, ho found himself seven miles from the town where the robbers had thrown him from their car.
