SETTLERS’ SPORTS PICNIC. The unfavourable weather prevented the completion of the whole programme at the Meremere Athletic Club’s sports gathering, and there remain on hand a number of trophies which were kindly donated. \\ ith the object of providing opportunity for competition for these trophies and further to assist the club funds it has been decided to hold a. settlers’ sports nicnic on Wednesday next, 18th inst. Given a fine day the gathering should be well attended arid prove successful in all respects. Refreshments wiLl be obtainable on the ground, and a dance will be held in the evening. Further particulars will be duly announced.
