DISTRICT SHIELD MATCHES.. The first games in the first round of the District Shield matches were played on Saturday afternoon between the Napier club and Hastings club on the Napier green, and betwren the Bluff Hill club and the Greenmeadows club on the latter's green. HASTINGS v NAPIER. The match between the Napier and Hastings clubs resulted in the three rinks of the Napier club defeating those of their opponents. Mrs Bishop gave afternoon tea. The following are the rinks and score?, Napier players being mentioned first : Rice, Laurie, Yates, H. Bull, 22; O'Reilly, Monteith, Roach, Haszard^ Holt. Thomson, Gilbert, J. P. GREENMEADOWS On the Greenmeadows green, the Bluff Hill club met Greenmeadows..
