Boxing.
There was a large attendance at FJis Majesty's Theatre, Dunedin, last week to witness the professional bout between Jack Griffon (West Coast) and Bert Murphy (Hastings). The former weighed 911 and Murphy 98, though the la ter looked the heavier of the two. The contest la-ted into the ninth round; when Murphy went down twice, and was counted out the second time. Griffen was more of a boxer than his opponent, and was leading on points alt through.
