Hastings Baptist Church.

Word bis been received that Mr H. B. Hughes, 8.A., a Baptist student, who is just completing his training for the Ministry at the Dunedin Presbyteri ;n College and Otago University, has accepted the invitation of N.Z. Baptist Conference to the pastorate of the new Baptist Church in Hastings. The members of the Hastings congregation have purchased a site on the Karamu road upon which the new church is to be erected, and plans for the building are now being prepared by Messrs Rush and James. Mr Hughes will deliver his first sermon in Hastings on the first Sunday in February next, by which date the new building will be completed. Donations towards tHe building fund have come in freely, and those persons desirous of contributing may forward them to Messrs H. E. Wright, M. Lascelles, Rev. J. K. Archer (Napier), J. H. Turner, J. H. Barbour, and the accountant at the Union Bank (Hastings). Tenders for the erecion of the Church will be called at an earlydate.
