Society for Health of Women and Children

FLORAL FETE. A committee meeting of the above Society was held in the Athenaeum yesterday afternoon, the Mayor (Mr J. A. presiding over a fair attendance. A letter was received from Lady Plunket stating that she would be unable to be present on the Bth December—The letter was received with regret The Secretary of the Jockey Club wrote stating that the club would be pleased to grant the use of the racecourse free of charge. —Jockey Club to be thanked. The sub-committee submitted a programme which was adopted after being slightly altered. It was decided to start the Fete at half past one. The following judges tor the variolic competitions were appointed : Decorated vehicles, etc., Mesdames Coleman and John Nairn ; competitions. Sir William Russell and Messrs G. L. Sunderland and H. M. Campbell. The entrance fee for the different ■events was fixed and provision made for substantial prizes for all the competitions. It was decided to hold a Parade, which, is to take place at half past three. Several other matters were discussed and the meeting closed with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
