ME MARATHON RACE. *ffis"the intention of the Wellington committee who are carrying out Arrangements for the Marathon Race Q'h inst., to have everything automate. Attendants on bicycles, one to each man, will pick the runners up at Ngahauranga and ride with them during the race, administering whatever is required in the shape of refreshment?, or in the case of accidents liniment and bandages. The following entries are among those received for the Marathon : C Retd, Aucklard ; W. F. Simp-on, •JU Hif, South Canterbury; J. J Wilkin. Christchurch ; M. Mulcahy. P. Fi zgerald, W. B Bennett, R.Reid, "F- Drlanev, and H. T. Thompson. Of the above Reid, of Auckland, recently won a ten-mile Marathon, W F. Simpson is the present fiveanile NZ cross-country champion, M Mulcahy and W. B. Bennett are Wellington five mile champions, and Fitzgerald is the NZ. three-mile walking champion.
