LADIES CLUB Mrs Tosswill is calling a meeting of ladies for to-morrow Friday at 4jDp.nl. in the St. Matthew's Schoolroom to select a committee and arrange preliminary details of the Ladies -Branch oi the Pioneer Amaleur Swimming Club: MesdamesJ. A. Miller. Stratton. Basil-Jones and Wellwood have signified their sympathy w'.th the proposal, and all ladies of the district interested in the -encouragement of this u-eful sport are cordiallv invited to attend the meetings. PSeeing that the newly formed JSapier ladies swimming club—the -fast ladies club to .join the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association —has already a membership of sytty, it is confidently expected tfadtlllawke's Bay will shortly witness %* keen competition in ladies swimming contests as is manifest in their winter pastime of heckey.
