ANNUAL CONFERENCE. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, Novembers The annual conference of the Acclimatisation Societies of New Zealand is being held to-day. The following officers were elected; President, Mr Tripp; vice-president, Mr Fitzßoy; council, Messrs Witson iTaianaki), riatian (Invercargill). Brown (Dunedin), Payton (Auckland), Earl 'Auckland), Dr Moorhouse (Canterbury), Chisholm <Otago), Jones (Stratford), Rutherford (South Canterbury), Liffiton (Wanganui), Lawe (Wellington) and Pollard (Marlborough). The remit from Wanganui, urging the Government to proclaim a close season in 1910 for all imported same, other than deer, throughout New Zealand, and that for one season hares be declared game in those districts where they are not game, was negatived.
