Rifle Shooting.
The Taradale Rifle Club finished shooting for Mr J. D. Rivers' cup last Saturday, the winner turning up in G. Grant. The shooting at 800 and 900 yards was poor, owing to a strong gusty wind. Scores :
In conjunction with the contest for Mr Rivers' cup the club also fired for Mr Moynihan's medal, ranges 800 and 900 yards. The medal was won by D. Lascelles.

The Lawrence Military Asylum, India, won the Prince of Wales' Cup for the Schools of the Empire Competition with a score of 516. Dover was second with a score of 509, Melbourne third, Wanganui fourth, and Britain (?) 18th. There was a marked all-round improvement in the shooting.
