Uuascar finished in front of Glenculloch aud Eona in the Juvenile Plate, paying £1 6s (sd. Armistice won the Metropolitan Handicap, Mystification being second. Dividends, £o 16s and £2 12s 6d. The Irwell Handicap fell to Mr E. J. Watt's Moriarty, paying £2 »s, Cockleshell, second, paid £2 Is. The local horse Montijo accounted for the Otaio Plate, Blytbetnaid fillinp second berth. The dividend paid by Star Rose in the New Zealand Cup is a record for the Cup ; and it must be remembered that one dividend only was paid prior to 1900. r Yesterday a Hastings hcrse figured in every race cs:ept tte Hurdles, in which Jack Pot fell. The results gave Hastings three firsts, four seconds and two thirds. In the big race of the day, the Derby Stakes, of 1000 sows, Hastings-trained horses filled the three places, a really creditable performance. By his successes at the meeting, Hon. J. I). Ormond has established an almost impregnable lead in the list of winning owners.
