New Sports Ground

At a special meeting of the Caledonian Society's Directors last evening, the Society voted ,£SOO of its funds towards the cost ot making the Tyne street Gardens Municipal Reserve a recreation ground for cycling, running, cricket, football, etc., provided satisfactory arrangements can be made with the other sports bodies and the Borough Council. The idea is to have the reserve declared a Domain. It is an ideal spot for sports of all sorts, central, and a few hundred pounds will suffice to make a thoroughly-up-to-date track.
