Wellington, March l.> Mr Field, M.H.R., speaking at Levin last night, suggested that there was a flaw in the Education Act of last session, and l>y it Education Boards were justified in their action with regard to the appointment of teachers, lie said it wan not clear thai it was obligatory the Hoards should submit six names to committees, and both the Wellington and Wanganui Boards were making appointments under the old system. The Premier ink rjectod : •• As Minister for Education 1 shall refrain from allowing salaries to be paid in case of any appointments so made."
