On account of the track not being in the best of order, and it being an off morning, not many horse 3 appeared on the course. The morning broke dull.

Gooseman's Brennan was about the first to appear. He did slow work, being put round three times. Tigress was also sent round three times at a slow pace. Gosseman's Whisper - Wonderland filly did twice round at half-pace. Mistra cantered three times round the course proper. Percy Martin's Scotia trotted round twice and did once round at half-pace. Clack-na-Cuddin and Seahorse cantered round three times.

Connop's Barbarossa went twice round at a good pace. New Forest cantered twice round, and did once round at three-quarter pace. Amoureux went twice round at half-pace, finishing the last two furlongs at top. She appeared to be striding along well within herself. Baccarat, associated with Sirocco, did twice round at half-paee.

Quinlivan's team did half-pace work.

Ruby did twice round at threequarter pace, trotting once round afterwards. Tataramoa was treated to twice round at three-quarter pace, and appeared to be the best-conditioned horse on the course.

Opou and Paria did slow worl". Mr G. Hope's team, under the management of Tod Sweeney, were worked before the touts were about.

Te Ngaehe was treated to a couple of rounds at half-pace.

OMAHU MAORI OATS MEETING

The annual meeting took place at Omahu yesterday, when about 400 people were present. The racing was good throughout, although there were no records broken. Wilson Tipene, secretary to the meeting, assisted by the members of the committee, carried out the duties satisfactorily, being the means of making the meeting a success. In the evening a dance was held in the large meeting house, when there was a large attendance. The duties of Master of Ceremonies were ably carried out by Humaera Karaka, otherwise " Smiler," who was indefatigable in making the gathering very pleasant. Following are the results of the racing : Hurdles, 1 ; ] mile : Tomoana 1, Awahuri 2, K. Jam 0. Maiden Plate, 1 mile : Renata Kawepo 1, Clareman 2.
