The Price of Bread.

(Pi'?- Press Association)

Wellington, This day. In reply to complaints as to the high price of bread, the bakers have blamed the Trades Union, by whom they are forced to pay high charges. They also contend that they have a right to charge higher than elsewhere, because rents and other expenses are heavier in Wellington than elsewhere. They also claim the right to make a profit to recoup them for the high price of flour last year. Nevertheless, no reduction has been made at all commensurate with the increase, which was promptly demanded immediately flour began to rise.
