A Liberal Meeting.
MR. SEDDON SPEAKS

Wellington, This day. The Hon. R. J. Seddon addressed a meeting at Cartertcn on Saturday night. His utterances for the most part were in reply to the speech made by Mr Buchanan at the same place a fortnight ago. Referring to the rejection of the Old Age Pension Bill by the Legislative Council, he said that
Parliament being now in session he Mt§'lettered and his tongue was tied, {bat there would be a time when he '■would tell the people that they must not suffer a wrong when it was being done repeatedly, and when the House had carried measures for the good of the country they must not be treated Tpth contempt. The meeting was also addressed by the Hon- J. Carroll and Messrs Stew- • ard, Wi Pere, Morrison, La wry, Flatman, Gilfedder, Kaihau and Hogg, M.'sß.R.
A motion expressing confidence in the present Liberal administration w fflHrrjofl by a large majority, though ibave were many Oi«enti«oi voicea.
