January 12th : Pahiatua race meeting. January 21st: Danevirke hack meeting. The Hon. J. D. Onnond's string is expected to reach Hastings in a few days' time. A sum of £*6200 was put through the totahsator at the Masterton races. _ The owner of Ned Kelly was disqualified for the Masterton meeting on account of inconsistent running. BLARNEY SCRATCHED. [By Telkokapu.] (IVr T/> Association.) An.Ki.AND, This day. Blarney has been scratched for all engagements. NORTHERN TRAINING NOTES. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, This day. A lot of interesting work was got through at EUerslie this morning. St. Paul covered two miles, being assisted by Markinch and Knight of Athol. As usual, the Cup favorite went really well, moving with great freedom throughout. Daystar traversed a mile and a half alone, when St Elmo joined in. and the pair broke away for another mile. Castor's son went free and well. Armilla cast a roundi of the track behind her in a style wheh pleased. Panoply and Antares were Worked over one mile and a quarter at a Coronet rattled over a mile a qutsrter in a taking manner. Daystar, who has greatly improved, proved too good for Hermosa and another in a five-furlong gallop. Mo?,el traversed three rounds at a good pace. Conscript did similar work. Kingswood compassed two rounds at three-quarter pace. Waiorougomai and Dpixitt covered a circuit at a sound pace. Nestor was apportioned a solid mile and a half, being assisted by Miss Nelson. Nor'-west and Ehikem were schooled over the hurdles. Both jumped well. Sabretache galloped a mile and a half, being assisted by Lillie and Lady Cuisine. The gallop did not please the touts. , . Daystar has shortened to i to J for the Cop. St Paul is now quoted at sto 2. arrives to-morrow.'
