ENGLAND v. BRISBANE COMBINED. (Per Press Association. —Copyright.) Brisbane, Nov. 27. The cricket match between the English eleven and a combined Queensland and New South Wales team began to-day. The weather was fine and there was a large attendance. The Englishmen won the toss, and decided to bat, Storer and Heane standing out of the visiting team. The Englishmen gave a fine display of batting, and had knocked up 338 runs for the loss of four wickets when stumps were drawn. The scorers were : Wainwright ... ... 37 Mason ... ... ... 74 M'Laren, not out ... 64 Ranjitsinhji ... ... 67 Druce, not out 39 Hay ward ... ... 35 Sundries ... ... 17 Total for 4 wickets ... 333 M'Kibbin secured three of the wickets. Turner came in for a lot of punishment.
