Fatal 'Bus Accident.

A LADY T JURIST KILLED. AND A PASSENGER AND THE DRIVER INJURED. (By Telegraph.) (Per Press Association.) Auckland, Nov. 26. The horses in one of Patterson's 'buses coming from Lake "Takapuna this evening bolted, and running into a water-trough opposite the Devtnport Borough Council Chambers capsized. A Melbourne lady, Mrs lames Tidey, was killed, the 'bus falling on her chest. Her daughter escaped. The driver was hurt and another passenger's shoulder dislocated. Later particulars show that the horses got restive after leaving Lake Takapuua and bolted at the North Shore gasworks, but the driver pulled them up. At the Takapuna racecourse all the local passengers got out and left the 'bus. but the tourists remained, although asked by the other passengers to come out. Mrs Tidey said she was not afraid of horses. The horses bolted again near the Devonport cemetery down towards the Victoria wharf. The "bus in capsizing fell on Mrs Tidey. She remained conscious on being got out from under the 'bus, but died in ten minutes. Miss T. Tidey got out from underneath unhurt. Mr Benjamin Huge, a New I'ork tourist, had a shoulder dislocated ; Mr De Beer, from Melbourne, escaped unhurt. The driver, James M'Crev, was hurt about the knee. He had the brake on, but the horses took charge. He tried to turn them into the Beach-road, but they swerved suddenly and went into the trough, all three horses coming down and the 'bus running upon their bodies. Mrs Tidey, who was on a visit to Auckland, intended to go last Thursday to her brother at New Plymouth, bat remained to see the Ladies' Benevolent Societies' royal fete at Ellerslie to-morrow.
