AN ISLAND RISES FROM THE SEA.

News from the East states that at Bornea, the scene of the enormous volcanic eruption off the coast on the 21st alt. only slight tremors were felt ashore.
A new island has been thrown up between Mempakul and Labridan, 50 yards from the mainland, opposite Labuan Island, composed of clay and rock. Its dimensions are 200 yards by 150 yards and 60ft. high. It appears to be increasing in size.
