The American proposals in connection with an International Currency Convention included the re-opening of the Indian mints,the stoppage of the tender of sovereings in India, fixing the legal tender limit of silver at £lO, issue of 20 and 10 shilling notes on a silver ba&is, and the retirement of balfBovereiugs.

France urged the re-opening of all mints for free coinage, Great Britain to be pledged to purchase £10,000,000 worth of silver annually.
