AT TOWNSVILLE. 40,000 TINS UNEARTHED. ( Per Press Association. —('opyr'ajht. , Townsville, This day. Recently rumors have been afloat concerning the discovery of tins of meat buried adjacent to the Ross River Meat Works. Forty thousand tins have already been unearthed, and it is believed that this only represents half the quantity buried. Large bodies of men are engaged in digging manure heaps, and are making fresh discoveries. It is estimated that the company lost fully £2OOO over the quantity already discovered. Further trouble is anticipated in connection with the shipments made in July, but there has not yet been time to receive reports as to the quantities reaching Home.
