RETALIATION ON THE PART OF THE UNIONS.

[Per Press Association. —Cnpyriyht.) London, Oct. 11. The executive of . the Federated Trades Union lias decided to call a general strike on Friday. The federation includes the boilermakers', shipbuilders', engipemakers\ carpenters', joiners', shipwrights , blacksmiths', and other Unions. The Free Labor Protection Association's delegates, representing 182,000 members, have appealed to the employers not to yield to the demands of the Unionists. Oct. 12 It transpires that the 1' ederated Trades' Union executive has only resolved to urge Mr Ritchie, Secretary of the Board of Trade, to try and induce the employers to discuss the industrial position. Mr John Burns, M.P., ridicules the action as a policy of dalliance. Mr Barnes, secretary of tha Engineers' Association, reproaches the Trades Unions with want of alacrity.
