Speaking at Forfar, Scotland, Mr John Morley condemned the forward policy of the Government in India and Soudan and said if it were further pursued there would be good reason for a passionate national remonstrance. The Employers Federation officially deny that a conference is likely to be arranged with the Engineers Society on the basis of the proposals submitted by the President of the Board of Trade. Nkw York, Oct. 5. The death is announced of Neal Dow, the well-known American advocate of Prohibition, aged 93. Madrid, Oct. 5. Senor Segasta has completed the formation of his Ministry, Senor Corria having accepted the portfolio of Minister of War and Senor Barmego, Minister of Marine. Athens, Oct. 5. M. Strait, the Greek Minister of Finance, has arranged terms with old Greek bond holders and has also made arrangements for the early issue of a war indemnity loan. Sydney, This day. Both Houses of the Legislature reassembled yesterday. Mr Reid announced that he would deliver his budget not later than the 14th. The Hon. E. Barton informed a deputation which asked him to stand for Redfem at the forthcoming general election that so far as he could foretell he was not likely to re-enter active politics for sometime.
