Eastern news of August oth states that 3000 Phillipine Island rebels entered the town of San Rafael, occupied by a Spanish regiment. The rebels carried all before them and drove the Spaniards into a convent, where they were besieged for two days. A large reinforcement of Spanish arrived and routed the rebels, who fled, leaving IGO dead and wounded. The Spanish loss was 48 killed and wounded.
