[By Telegkaph.]

(Per Press Association.)

Christchurch, This day. The members of the Hon. Reserve Corps have just completed two matches to test the quality of the ammunition made in the Auckland works. The matches were of 10 shots at" 600 and 700 yards. The day was bad and the light tricky with different windage given with every shot. The ammunition was marked "5.1879." The cartridge cases were left perfectly clear, with an entire absence of sediment, the most reliable test which the ammunition could be subjected to. The elevation of the ammunition was nearly as possible perfect not a single shot falling low. The men were unamious in its praise agreeing if the Government would recall the present issue and circulate more of this class instead, there could be so possible cauae for complain?,
