(Per Pits* Association.—L'opyri</ht.) London, Sept. 21. At the inquest on the body of the Ilev. Aubrey Price, of Clapham, who died from the effects of a revolver wound, which before death he declared had been caused by burglar:-, an open verdict was returned. Q'lie evidence adduced went in the direction that the deceased had recently suffered from mental weakness. Sept. 22. Mr -John Burns, XT.P., has made a statement to the effect that the employees are willing to consent to a conference on the matters in dispute with the engineers. The Daily Chronicle states that President Kruger, of the Transvaal, is suffering from Bright's disease in an advanced stage, and that his physicians declare he can hardly live for 18 months. Lord George Hamilton, Secretary of State for India, suggests that the Indian famine relief fund should now be closed. He testifies to the gratitude of the Indian population for the liberality and sympathy displayed in the matter. The yacht Spray, in which Captain Slocum is making a voyage round the world, has arrived safely at Port Louis, from Australia. Rome, Sept. 22. Severe shocks of earthquake have been experienced in Venice, Trieste, and here. A panic was occasioned amongst the populace in these cities, but only slight damage was done to property and no loss of life is reported. Ottawa, Sept. 22. Sir Wilfred Laurier, Premier of Canada, in the course of a speech said he would never rest satisfied until the whole of Canadian products and 90 per cent of that produced from the Western States of America were carried by means of the St Lawrence route. New York, Sept. 22. The sheriff of C'oleraine and 10 of his deputies have been committed for trial on the charge of the murder of miners. The whole of the accused were admitted to bail. Melbourne, This day. Parliament will be dissolved on Monday next. The writ will be issued on the following day, and the elections will take place on October 14. Perth, This day. A disastrous fire broke out last night. The corporation buildings were gutted, while several shops and offices also suffered to a lesser degree. The damage is estimated at £'ll,ooo. Incendiarism is supposed. Sydney, This day. The Convention adjourned until tomorrow. Efforts will be made when it meets in Melbourne to create a Federal Court of Conciliation.
