The Miowera in a Storm.

THE PASSENGERS RECEIVE A SEVERE SHOCK. (By Telegraph.) (Per Press Association.) Wellington, This day. The Miowera was caught in a very bad storm on Thursday. The seas constantly broke on board smashing in the doors of foe captain's and doctor's cabins wrenching away a boat from the chocks and throwing it on the bridge and flooding the forward berths. The passengers were battened down and not allowed on deck, and so furious was the storm that many gave themselves up for lost. After being hove to for 17 hours the gale moderated. The Pukaki was caught in the same storm and lost her binnacle.
