THE EASTERN QUESTION.
EVACUATION NOT FINALLY SETTLED.
GERMANY YET TO BE SATIS FIED.

London, Sept. 10.
The Times states that the Powers are not agreed upon the question of the evacuation of Thessaly independent of payment of a portion of the war indemnity. Lord Salisbury, however, insists upon the evacuation independent of such payment. This, the paper adds, is practically the point at issue between Great Britain and the Continental Powers.
Germany has not replied to Lord Salisbury's recent proposals to the Powers.
The foreign Ambassadors at Constantinople are considering the amount of indemnity required to satisfy Turkey's claims. The Daily News' Berlin correspondent states that Lord Salisbury's proposals will satisfy Germany. Athens, Sept. 9. The Greek refugees from Thessaly refuse to return to their homes until the evacuation of Thessaly by the Turkish troops has been completed. Sept. 10. The Powers have decided to delay raising the blockade of Crete until peace is concluded between Turkey and Greece.
