A crisis has arisen iii the Legislative Assembly unexpectedly. Mr Stephens, a member, was called to order for accusing the Government of bribery and corruption in connection with the appointment of the Land Commission, and as he refused to withdraw the words he was "named " by the Speaker. The Premier was not in the House at the time. On returning he moved his suspension, but the House declined to pass it. Mr Tozer then decided not to proceed with the business until a direct vote bad been taken on the words used. The House adjourned till Tuesday, when a lively debate is expected. The Government, irts believed, will have a good majority.
