RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.
[By Telegraph.]
(Per Press Association.) Christchurch, This day. The morning was overcast but a large number of visitors were out, and they witnessed some capital work, the chief interest being centred in the doings of the National candidates. Gillie, wlio has done more solid work this week, covered two rounds at a sound pace. Golden Plover, Mutiny, and Fireworks galloped a mile and a-quarter fast. Morag put in a strong half pace task. . Nat jumped the big fences in capital style and so also did The Friar. Ulster merely cantered. Ilex went along in fine style over a circuit, afterwards jumping a hurdle or two. Dromedary, Flirt and Coastguard jumped some of the big and little fences. Te Kooti, who is very dotty, was doing steady work on the plough. Levanter and Kingswood galloped a mile and a-quarter fast, Social Pest a mile and a-half, and Dundonald a mile. Tally-ho put in long, steady work, and Missfire and Voltigeur raced over a mile, Missfire being freer at the finish. Volt:* geur has mended fast since accident. Monte Carlo jumped several iiurdles in company with Dundee, and improved as he went on. Bradshaw put in long, striding work, Dummy and Muscatel traversed two rounds at half-pace, finishing fast. A lot of good work was done by hunters and flat horses.
