A SERIOUS COLLISION.
ACCIDENT TO LADY BRASSEY. HER LADYSHIP HAS TWO RIBS BROKEN. f Per I 'less A-ssoriutinll. ( 'iipi/ri'/ht. j Melbockm:, -July 22. Lady Brassey met with a serious accident while driving in Elizabeth street to-day, accompanied bv the Hon Dorothy Brand, daughter of Lord Hamuden, Governor of New South Wales. A runaway cart violently collided with the carnage, and Miss Brand was thrown out, escaping with a shaking, but Lady Brassey received the full force of the impact on the riuht side. She was removed to Government House, where it was found that two of her ribs had been broken, one badiy. The doctor fears that the lungs may to some extent be affected, but there is no present danger. This day. Besides broken ribs Lady Brassey was much bruised and is in great pain but not in a dangerous state, and the doctors now anticipate a good recovery.
