MINE ROBBERIES.

SUPPOSED EXTENSIVE PECULATIONS. ( Per Press Association. —Copyriyht.) Sydney, July 9. Alleged extensive robberies of rich ore have laken place at the Lucknow mine, near Orange, in consequence of which the mine has been closed down and 7000 men thrown out of employment. It is believed that an extensive conspiracy existed to rob the mine. The men named Summerville and Green, the latter a " shift-boss " have been arrested and committed for trial. Various estimates of loss sustained bv the company range from £ISOO to £13,000. This day. The Lucknow mine resumes work with an all round reduction in wages.
