COLONIAL TROOPS AT HOME

(Per Press Association.—Copyriyht.) London, July 8. The contingent of New South Wales Rifles have been attached to a regiment of the Gtb Dragoons for training. They attended a field day, part of the Imperial force, and won the compliments of the Duke of Connaught for their work. During the operations, while engaged reconnoitring, Private Hawkey, of No. 1 contingent, and his horse fell into a canal, but both swam to land safely.
