COLONIAL PREMIERS AT HOME
A VISIT TO WINDSOR. THE PREMIERS SWORN IN AS PRIVY COUNCILLORS. (Per Press Association.—Copyright.) London, July 8. The Premiers and their wives visited Windsor Castle yesterday, and visited the Prince Consort's mausoleum at Frogmore and the tombs of the Duke of Albany and the Duke of Clarence. The party was entertained at luncheon at the Castle, and were afterwards sworn in as Privy Councillors and decorated with medals presented by the Queen in.commemoration of che Jubilee. They presented the Queen with congratulatory addresses from their respective Parliaments and from colonial corporations. The Right Hon. C. C. Kingston, as president of the late Australian Federal Convention, presented Her Majesty with a congratulatory address adopted by the Convention. The Queen made a gracious reply to each colonial address. Mr Chamberlain introduced to the Queen the Premiers' wives, who presented various addresses from the women of Australasia. Speaking at a banquet given by the Fishmongers Association the Right Hon. G. Reid said he admired the magnificent patriotism and loyalty inspiring Canada in relaxing their tariff in favor of Great Britain, but it was time Britishers recognised that unless the tariff was made freer with England when Australia federated Canada was bound to take a seat a little below.
