GENERAL ITEMS. (Per Press Association. —Copyright.) Sydney, May 11. Evidence in the Gillon divorce case (the wife's application) has been coneluded, and the Court has reserved its decision. Mr Brunker has been appointed acting-Colonel Treasurer during Mr Eeid's absence in England. A fire at Tamworth destroyed an hotel, the Public Hall, and several business places. The damage is estimated at from £15,000 to £20,000. A milk cart capsized in Newcastle, and a man named Cronin and a boy named Fallen were killed* Adelaide, May 11. Parliament meets on June 10th. The Treasurer hopes to announce a surplus of at least £20,000 on the year's operations.
