There was a large and sympathetic gathering at Temuka last night, when a testimonial of esteem was presented to Mr A. E. (r. Rhodes, former member and defeated candidate for Geraldine electorate. A present took the fyrm of a handsome album, containing the names of over 1600 shillirg subscribers. Mr G. J. IK-niji-t.-.u presided. Pr Hayes made the presentation and political speeches vvere made by the Hon W. Rolleston, Mo--ts Seobie M'Kenzie, J. Allen, Mason and Moore. It was an Opposition mt-eting and in sympathy with the =p*-akr*rs in the criticiiiin of Government principles and methods.
