Parliamentary News.
[By Telk^raph.] {From Out- Special Correspondent). Wellington, This day. The Commissioners for opening Parliament. will be the Hons. \V. C. Walker, Dr. Grace, Captain Baillie, and H. J. Miller. The members are ticketing off their seats. Mr George Hutchison, who formerly sat on the cross benches, has taken his place among the Opposition leaders, directly facing the Government benches. There will be no opposition to Sir Maurice O'Rouke /v his election as Speaker, and as Mr Guinness is to be the Government nominee as Chairman of Committee's his return is also regarded as certain. The Premier is to bo accompanied on his Home trip by Mrs and Miss Seddon. The objection to the Native and mounted contingent is gaining, and it is not at all likely that a vote for the troops for England will be assented to; oil the other hand the feeling in favor of a rifle team to Bisley is strengthening among members. There is some tilk of raising the question as to the validity return of Mr Gilfedder, member for Wallace, on the grouud that at the time of the nomination he was in receipt of public money as a schoolmaster.
